This article is built around an example campaign (Sadie for Senate) so you can see exactly what your Rally will look like before we set it up. Skim through, and let us know if anything needs to change before we go live.

What's in this guide

When you sign with Rally for an electoral campaign, we have a default setup that reflects what we've seen work best. This article walks through everything we'll build for you, so you can react to it rather than answer a bunch of open-ended questions. We've broken it into four areas:

  1. Landing page & Reg check form — how new mobilizers join your campaign, including the title and description that mobilizers and contacts see first
  2. Default mobilizer missionMake your own vote plan
  3. Default contact mission — vote plans
  4. Referral action — how mobilizers bring others in

If anything below doesn't fit your campaign, just flag it and we'll adjust before launch.

1. Landing page & Reg check form

The reg check form is the front door to your campaign — the first place your organizers or volunteers land when joining Rally. It does two jobs at once: it welcomes people in, and it checks their information against the voter file so you instantly know who's already registered and who may need a nudge.

💬 Example (Sadie for Senate)

Landing Page Title: Join Sadie for Senate!

Landing Page Description: "We need to make sure that every voter across Ohio knows that there is a critical primary election on June 30 and that Sadie is the best choice to serve as our next Senator."

The sign-up flow

Once a mobilizer fills out the form, Rally runs the voter file match and walks them through a short, mostly built in flow:

1️⃣ Landing Page & Form — they enter name, email, and address (phone optional)

2️⃣ Match Results ("Find a match!") — Rally asks them to confirm their identity against the voter file before they continue. This happens automatically — there's nothing to set up.

3️⃣ Mobilizer Dashboard – Their “homepage” after creating their account and matching (or not matching) to the voter file. This is where all of their actions will happen for them!

🧭 Same path for everyone. Whether or not someone matches to the voter file, they continue through the same flow for joining Rally — we don't send matched and unmatched mobilizers down different paths. The match simply tells you each person's registration status; it doesn't change their entry point experience.

💡 Optional — custom prompts Want to ask a couple of extra questions at sign-up (e.g., "What issue matters most to you?" or "Can you knock doors on weekends?")? We can add custom prompts to the form before the voter-match step. By default we keep the form short to maximize completion — just tell us if you'd like to add any.
