A Mission is how Rally structures the work of a campaign. It bundles together a set of actions and presents them to mobilizers in a clear, prioritized order — so every person who joins your campaign knows exactly what to do and who to reach out to.

This article explains what Missions are, how they’re structured, and what each action type does.

What is a Mission?

A Mission is a collection of actions — individual tasks — that mobilizers see and complete through Rally. When someone joins a campaign through an Entry Point (your signup form), they’re enrolled in that entry point’s Mission.

Every Mission has two parallel tracks:

You can think of a Mission as the full picture of what you’re asking mobilizers to do: first, take action yourself; second, bring your people along.

The two tracks: Mobilizer Mission and Contact Mission

Mobilizer Mission

The Mobilizer Mission contains actions the mobilizer completes for themselves — after they leave the entry point. These show up on the mobilizer dashboard in priority order. Mobilizers see one action at a time: when they complete the highest-priority action, the next one takes its place.

Examples: making their own vote plan, pledging a donation, signing up for an event, referring friends to the campaign.
