Vote Plan and Vote Reminder are a two-action sequence that together form the core of a relational voter contact program. The Vote Plan action helps mobilizers work with their contacts to make a concrete plan for how and when to vote. The Vote Reminder action follows up later to confirm that plan and encourage follow-through.

This article covers how to configure both action types.

How Vote Plan and Vote Reminder work together

These two actions are designed to be used in sequence within a Mission:

  1. Vote Plan — The mobilizer has a conversation with each contact to make a concrete plan: how they'll vote (early, mail, or election day), where their polling place is, and when they plan to go. Rally records the plan and optionally generates a shareable link the mobilizer can send to the contact.
  2. Vote Reminder — Closer to or on election day, the mobilizer follows up with contacts who have a vote plan to remind them and confirm they followed through. Rally automatically marks this complete if AVEV data shows the contact has already voted.

Both actions are tied to your campaign's election configuration. Plans and reminders are matched to the specific election date set in Admin → Election, so changes to that date may trigger recalculation of action statuses.
