Understanding Views

A View is a saved set of filters that allows you to look at a subsection of your mobilizers or contacts in your Campaign. Views are similar to Saved Searches in VAN – they are dynamic, meaning that they continuously update as Mobilizers’ and Contacts’ attributes shift.

Navigating Mobilizer Views

Your default view available when first selecting the “Mobilizers” tab is the All Mobilizers view. To begin using filters to analyze the Mobilizer data in your Campaign, you can either select “View” to the right of the All Mobilizers view or select the blue “+ Add a Mobilizer View” button toward the bottom of the page.

Displayed in the All Mobilizers view will be all of the Mobilizers who are in Rally and signed up with your Campaign. Within this table view, you can sort several columns in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column header.

The refresh button indicated below tells Rally to manually refresh – allowing Rally to update the page to add anyone who may now be in the database or match any selected filters.

The settings button indicated below allows you to control which columns are being displayed within the Mobilizer table. Checkmarks indicate which column values are being shown.

Note: Mobilizers displayed on any view can be selected by clicking their name to display their individual Mobilizer Profile with detailed information on their performance and network.

Filtering Views of Mobilizers

We use filters to create, analyze, and save different views of the Mobilzers within your Campaign. To begin adding filters, select the “Filter” button.

The filter selection screen allows you to add criteria to use to filter your list of Mobilizers. Below are your options for criteria along with descriptions of each:

Note: As you select filters to be applied, Rally will tell you how many Mobilizers match the criteria you are selecting in the bottom left of the filter selection screen.

Filter by… Description
contact match rate Allows view to show Mobilizers by a minimum and/or maximum match rate (by percentage) of their contacts. Match rate is defined as the percent of a Mobilizer’s contacts that are matched to the voter file.
contacts in view Allows view to show Mobilizers who have Contacts that exist in a saved Contact View. You can also set parameters to only show Mobilizers that have a minimum or maximum number of contacts that exist in the selected saved contact view.
district Allows view to include or exclude Mobilizers registered in a created district, based on voter file match records.
match status Allows view to show Mobilizers based on if they’re matched or unmatched to their voter file, as well as statuses associated with Mobilizers who’ve been through the voter registration flow: Matched, Not Yet Matched, No Match Found, Can Register, Can’t Register, or Registration Uncertain.
number of contacts Allows view to show Mobilizers based on a minimum and/or maximum number of contacts added to the Rally Campaign.
voter file tags Allows view to include or exclude Mobilizers with imported voter file tags.

It's important to note that several criteria can be selected to filter within one Mobilizer view. To apply the selected criteria, select “Done”.

The topline metrics in your filtered view will be displayed at the top of your page – breaking down the total number of Moblizers now displayed, how many Contacts those Mobilizers have in their networks, the average number of Contacts per Mobilizer, and how many of their Contacts have at least one relational touchpoint.

To return to the view with applied filters later, you must use the blue “Save” button located near the top right of the view.

Navigating Contact Views

Your default view available when first selecting the “Contacts” tab is the All Contacts view. To begin using filters to analyze the Contacts data in your Campaign, you can either select “View” to the right of the All Contacts view or select the blue “+ Add a Contact View” button toward the bottom of the page.

Displayed in the All Contacts view will be all of the Mobilizers who are in Rally and signed up with your Campaign. Within this table view, you can sort several columns in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column header.

The refresh button indicated below tells Rally to manually refresh – allowing Rally to update the page to add anyone who may now be in the database or match any selected filters.

The settings button indicated below allows you to control which columns are being displayed within the Contacts table. Checkmarks indicate which column values are being shown.

Filtering Views of Contacts

We use filters to create, analyze, and save different views of the Contacts within your Campaign. To begin adding filters, select the “Filter” button.

The filter selection screen allows you to add criteria to use to filter your list of Contacts. Below are your options for criteria along with descriptions of each:

Note: As you select filters to be applied, Rally will tell you how many Contacts match the criteria you are selecting in the bottom left of the filter selection screen.

Filter by… Description
Key Question response Allows view to filter based on Contacts Key Question response (or lack of response).
district Allows view to include or exclude Contacts registered in a created district, based on voter file match records.
action response Allows view to filter based on specific responses, or lack of responses, to one or multiple action items.
match status Allows view to show Contacts based on if they’re matched or unmatched to their voter file, as well as statuses associated with Mobilizers who’ve been through the voter registration flow: Matched, Not Yet Matched, No Match Found, Can Register, Can’t Register, or Registration Uncertain.
voter file tags Allows view to include or exclude Contacts with imported voter file tags.

Its important to note that several criteria can be selected to filter within one Contact view. To apply the selected criteria, select “ b”.

Saved Contact views can be used as criteria to filter Mobilizer views.

Saving Views

In both the Mobilizer and Contact views, the Save button is critical to being able to return to a desired set of filters later. Select the blue “Save” button on either page to save a view, adding a name and description to provide context for reference and visibility.

Exporting Views

In both the Mobilizer and Contact views, Admins have the option to export their filtered view to a downloadable .csv file. To do so, navigate to the filtered view and select “Export” located next to the “Save” button near the top right of the view. Selecting this button will trigger the .csv download.
