Step-by-Step: Creating Your Rally Account

This article will walk you through creating a Rally account and joining a Campaign on Rally.

Rally is a website, not an app. You can access it from a mobile device like a cell phone or tablet or from a laptop. The easiest way to get started is to visit your Campaign’s Rally page also referred to as the Campaign’s landing page.

Sign Up for a Rally Account

To log in or sign up for a Rally account, visit your Campaign’s landing page. It will look something like this, “https://go.rally.win/peterson-for-portland”. If you don’t have a link to your Campaign’s Rally page, please reach out to your Campaign contact.
From the Campaign landing page, click on “Join Campaign,” then select the blue “Sign up” button.
Choose a sign up/sign in method for your Rally account and follow the corresponding instructions to create an account and log in. The sign up method you select will be the same method you use to log in to Rally every time.

There are 3 options for signing up for Rally account:

Sign up with email

Enter the email address you would like to connect to your Rally Account. This will be the email address you use every time when signing back into your Rally account. You can type your email address – or, if you have a gmail email address, you can choose to just connect your account directly with Rally. More on that below!

After hitting submit, check your email for a magic link. It’s magic because it signs you into Rally just by clicking it! You will never have to create your own password with this process. Just click the “Sign up” button or the link in the email. The next time you sign in to Rally, you’ll get another magic link.

If for any reason you can’t just click the link in the email, you can copy and paste the link into your browser.

Please note: for security reasons, the link sent to your email address will expire after 30-minutes. If it has been more than 30 minutes you will need to visit https://go.rally.win/sign-in and enter your email address again.
Not seeing the email in your inbox? Check your spam and promotions folders or try searching your inbox for the email address info@rally.win.

Sign up with Google

Select the Google account you would like to connect to your Rally account. This will automatically sign you in using your gmail credentials. You can learn more about how it works here.

Sign up with Facebook

Once you’ve signed up, click “Join Campaign”.

Campaign Passcodes

The first time you join a new Campaign in Rally, you may be asked to enter a passcode. You will only be asked to enter this passcode the very first time you sign in to this Campaign. If you are unable to find this, please reach out to your Campaign Contact.

Enter Profile Details

Now that you are logged into Rally, you will be prompted to finish setting up your account.

The first time you sign in, Rally will ask what to call you. You can enter a first name or a nickname, and then hit “Next”.

Next, Rally will ask you to enter your information – including your legal name used to vote, along with your street address, city, state, and zip. The information you enter here will be used to help match your profile to the voter file. This is the list of all registered voters in the U.S. We do this so that we can share up-to-date info on elections in your area. If you aren’t a registered voter, that’s okay. You’ll let us know later on.

After hitting next, Rally will then use the contact information you provided to make suggestions for possible matches to the voter file. Based on the results, select the correct match and click save.

If you’re not quite sure which result is the correct one at the moment or if none of the results look correct, select “none of these” at the bottom and hit “Continue”. You can always try matching yourself to the voter file again at a later time.

Next, you will be asked how the Campaign can contact you. Important Campaign updates may be sent to the email and phone number given. Please enter the same email address you used to sign up, and a valid phone number, then click “Next”. It’s important to note here that a phone number can only be used to set up one Rally account.

You did it! After completing the above steps, your Rally profile is created and you will be taken to this screen.
